We have optioned Switzerland which was commissioned by the The Sydney Theatre Company artistic directors Cate Blanchett & Andrew Upton and had its world premiere in 2014 starring Sarah Peirse as Patricia Highsmith and Eamon Farren as Edward Ridgeway. The play was also produced at the Melbourne Theatre Company & it has been produced in numerous productions in Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, America and England on West End. It has received two nominations at the 2015 Helpmann Awards.
Critically acclaimed director Anton Corbijn is a Cannes Film Festival winning and BAFTA nominated filmmaker who is directing the project in Italy and Switzerland with pre-production commencing in Q4 2024.
The film is starring Academy Award winner Helen Mirren (“The Queen, Barbie”, “Hitchcock”) and Alden Ehrenreich (“Oppenheimer”, “Cocaine Bear”, “Solo: A Star Wars Story”, “Blue Jasmine”, “Fair Play”, “Hail, Caesar!”), Olivia Cooke (“Ready Player One”, “Me, Earl & The Dying Girl’, “Thoroughbreads”, “Game of Thrones: House of Dragon” and “The Sound Of Metal”.
The author, Joanna Murray Smith is an award winning novelist, playwright and screenwriter. Joanna was nominated for an AFI award for best screenplay for "Georgia”, directed by Ben Lewin. Joanna also co-wrote "Palm Beach" starring Sam Neil & Bryan Brown. Joanna also wrote the play "Honour" which has been produced in over 24 countries including Broadway NYC, London's Royal National Theatre, West End starring Laura Linney and was first read for in 1995 by Meryl Streep.
Lunar Pictures also recently optioned Joanna’s play “Honour”, and adapted the play into a feature screenplay in which Worldwide Rights have been acquired by leading UK Sales Agent Hanway Films.
Deadline announced in 2023 Lunar Pictures, in a Co Production with Brouhaha Entertainment’s (“Boy Swallows Universe’, “The Convert”) Academy Award & BAFTA nominated producer Gabrielle Tana is producing the film with sales agent and finance company FilmNation LLC & CAA Media Finance packaging. Tana was nominated for a BAFTA for “The Dig” starring Ralph Fiennes, Lily James & Carey Mulligan and an Oscar for “Philomena” starring Judi Dench & Steve Coogan and “Thirteen Lives” by MGM Studios starring Colin Farrell, Vigo Mortensen & Joel Edgerton. Andrew Mason served as US Studio Executive Producer for “The Matrix” (all 3 x trilogy films), produced “The Water Diviner” Starring Russell Crowe and produced the Alex Proyas masterpiece “Dark City”. Troy Lum was head of Dendy Films prior to establishing Hopscotch Features which was acquired by Entertainment One, one of the worlds leading content and distribution businesses.
